The instructions that come with most products are left unread until a problem arises.
With building materials, if the products is used incorrectly the results ( in most cases ) can not be corrected easily.
Please take a minute to read through the information below, it could save a lot of unnecessary problems.

Useful Information

Treated Timber-
1. Most timber is cut to size and treated to order. This is because the treatment does not in most cases penetrate through to the center and if cut later the center is open to the elements at the ends.
2. All timber must stand for at least 48 hours after treatment.
Therefore please place your order at least 7 days before delivery.

Doors-
1. Check your door for any defects before you start work on it. We will not replace faulty doors after they have been hung, so CHECK first.
2. Seal your door. Prime both faces and all the edges as soon as possible. This will reduce the risk of warping.

Plywood-
1. All plywood must be painted or varnished if it is to be used outdoors(including marine plywood). Even exterior plywood will warp or de-laminate if left untreated.

Plasterboards-
1. Plasterboards are still referred to in imperial sizes i.e. 6' x 3' . Please note all plasterboards are produced in metric sizes 1800mm x 900mm.

Tonge & Groove Boards-
1. When ordering T&G Boards remember to take note of the finished size. A 6" floorboard for example has a finished size of 144mm (5 3/4") this includes the tonge which when fitted fits into the next board, therefore giving a cover size of only 139mm (5 1/2").
2. Don't forget to allow for wastage and joints when ordering.. Joints examples

Laminate Flooring-
1. Most laminates are stored in cold warehouses, so to reduce the risk of warping or cupping when opened and fitted in a warm, dry environment they should be left for at least 48 hours ( in the room it is to be fitted ), with the wrapping intact.
2. Check all boards before fitting. Any defects found after installation cannot be replaced without removing the whole floor.
3. When fitting only use the correct fixing kit or clamps. Hitting the boards together with a hammer will damage the edges.
